There are so many scams out there you really need to be careful. Many people expect to get scammed when seeking adult content or information on casinos or get rich quick scams but you let your guard down when you are seeking things on the Internet that seem very plain and professional. Here is the top scam people have problems with when seeking an LPN to RN program.
Book Scams- They lead you on and have you think they are a college and then you find out the 1,000 to 2,000 you are spending is just in buying their nursing books. After you have spent all that money they direct you to excelsior or some other correspondence college that has nothing to do with them. I was sucked into that scam and I came right out and said. “are you affiliated with a college?” “are you just selling books or are you the actual college?” I know it sounds so far fetched but this has happened to intelligent nurses and paramedics in the field looking for programs. The truth is that you just find your program and then get the list of books you need then you can order them from regular book companies, amazon, eBay or even Craigslist for hundreds of dollars less.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackHas anyone heard of National Medical Academy. I’ve looked them up on the internet and I couldnt find their website. I talked to the head man in charge Johnny L Malone and he doenst seem like he knows whats going on he showed me this crappy copy of a LPN Certificate and he didnt show me that his school was accredited. How do I find out if his school is really a scam or not.
Be careful with College Network I was told that was in program but after grade point was told that I should have never been in program .And that i would need to take more classes and pay more money. Know I have a bill for a school that I can not attend. And no one at College Network will talk to me.
Are you sure he didn’t say his name was Johnny B Balonne? lol Sorry, I couldnt resist. No, Ive never heard of that school.
I also was scammed and paid over $5000.00 to a so called school who sent me books and paper updated materials. When I did attempt to do the schooling was told that the company had been sold to this new company. I explained that I had paid my monies to the other company and was told, well we can let you have one test/class free then see what we can work out. Basically I would need to pay this new company. What a Crock. If I had it to do over I would go with Excelsior up front.
