LPN to RN Bridge Programs are generally accelerated programs (8 – 12 months) that require the student has some practical work experience as a LPN/LVN, a current state LPN/LVN license and have meet all of the prerequisites to the program (anatomy & physiology, micro biology, chemistry, etc). Whereas, RN Programs (ADN or BSN) at a community college or university generally take considerably longer because the student will start from square one. These involves taking all of the prerequisites and course material and follow a college paced program with Spring/Summer/Christmas breaks, and the full range of semester based course work over the duration of the 2 or 4 year program.
